We are an international couple who love traveling and meeting people from all over the world. Matt was born in the US but lived in several different countries in Europe and Latin America before finally settling in Japan. Maya is native Japanese but speaks fluent English and has also traveled abroad extensively for both business and pleasure. We both work in customer service and guarantee a memorable, comfortable stay for all of our guests!

We personally meet all guests at check in and check out, and whenever possible, at least one of the hosts will be on site during your stay should you have any needs. Otherwise, we can always be reached via e-mail, SMS and phone.

Nestled in the mountains of Nagano at an elevation of 860 meters (2,821 feet), this is a luxury home exclusively for those who want to escape tourist traps, experience a side of Japan rarely seen by outsiders, and do it in style. Our 2-bedroom home is 200 sq. meters (2153 sq. feet) large and is a marriage between traditional Japanese architecture and modern technology and comfort.

Zaltana

Elegant, secluded cabin for couples & families

This is a stylish log cabin located in a pristine wooded area at an altitude of 1,300 meters (4,265 feet) in Iizuna, Nagano. The home is the perfect retreat for couples, families or small groups. It features a wood burning stove, large TV, Blu-ray/DVD player, stereo, leather chairs, and full kitchen. Enjoy hiking, skiing, BBQ, golf or hot spring onsen baths in the area.

  • Please remove your shoes in the home. Slippers will be provided.
  • There is absolutely no smoking anywhere in the home. Smoking is allowed on the balcony only, and cigarette butts must be deposited in the ashtray provided.
  • Please respect our neighbors by not making excessive noise, especially after 10:00 PM.
  • While events are allowed in our home, we must be informed of the nature of the event at the time of booking and the guests are expected to clean up after the event prior to check out.
  • The cleaning fees we charge are to cover standard tidying after guests leave: doing the laundry, dusting, vacuuming, etc., however, all guests are still expected to take care of the home and leave it clean before checking out. Guests who leave the home excessively dirty will be charged an additional housekeeping fee.


The most important rule is simply to please respect and take care of our home!

  • The standard cleaning fees we charge are to cover regular tidying such as doing the laundry, dusting, vacuuming, etc., however, all guests are still expected to take care of the home and leave it clean before checking out. Guests who leave the home excessively messy will be charged an additional housekeeping fee.
  • Bonfires are strictly prohibited. BBQ grills are allowed but please always practice fire safety.
